Chemical properties and preparation methods

Platinum carbon has stable chemical properties, high selectivity and activity, long life, and can be recycled more than dozens of times in the same system. Its preparation method usually includes heating an aqueous solution of activated carbon and chloroplatinic acid in a 50°C water bath for several hours, cooling it with sodium carbonate to make the solution alkaline, then reducing chloroplatinic acid with hydrazine hydrate, and finally filtering, washing and drying to obtain the catalyst‌.
